Founder & Principal

Brian Asmus

30 years in law enforcement. 20 of them as Chief of Police. All of them in the business of keeping people safe.

Led the Liberty Lake Police Department from its founding through two decades, building the department, its K-9 program and its community-policing model. When the City of Liberty Lake stood up its own police department, Brian was the chief who built it — the officers, the technology, the K-9 program, and a community-policing approach that treated education and visibility as seriously as enforcement.

In 2020 he retired from the department and took on a different front line: he led school safety and security for Central Valley School District from September 2020 — a district of fourteen thousand five hundred students across Spokane Valley and Liberty Lake.

He also served as the Director of Physical Security for a large healthcare provider.

Why Shield Point

Most places that need a security plan cannot hire a police chief. Shield Point Strategies exists so they do not have to: the same judgment that ran a department and protects a school district, brought to your building for the time it takes to get it right.
